also annoying for licensed users!)? So TV is great when it works but I'd rather avoid it due to unreliability.

Also, remember when their update refused to connect to remote machines without that same version installed - which could only be installed locally (. But every couple of years it has blocked me even though I only use it to support my mother and wife occasionally.

Is there an easier/better method (if possible avoiding 3rd party software)?ģ. Can anyone suggest whether this should now work with MATE (or even XFCE or LMDE)?Ģ. (I use Teamviewer occasionally for private use.)ġ. I'm not sure whether Teamviewer, NoMachine, or Any Desk can proved a solution here especially as the teenagers should ideally not have to install any new software to their machines. Since then LM seems to have changed something making this more difficult: viewtopic.php?t=333890. It seemed this should be possible to do this using xRDP except the MATE desktop seemed to cause difficulties in an earlier version:

The host machine has an Intel i7-3770 CPU and 16GB RAM. If possible, they should be able to access the machine using the default terminal programs installed on their machines e.g. I would like to demonstrate LM to a group of teenagers on a old-ish desktop as host.
